Summer Interns

About Hong Kong Open Printshop
Founded in 2000, Hong Kong Open Printshop (HKOP) is Hong Kong’s first non-profit open printshop run by artists. In 2012, Hong Kong Open Printshop registered as a charitable organisation. Our main aim is to promote visual art with an emphasis on image making and give back to the community by providing art programmes that people of all ages and from all walks of life can enjoy. 

 

Since 2000, HKOP had ambitions programme of exhibitions, international conference and community programmes, such as Between the Lines, Pop Up PressIMPACT 11, Hong Kong Fine Print and HKOP Awards. HKOP now manages two arts space in the JCCAC and Shanghai Street Art Space with over total 6000 sq. ft which includes an open press centre, a print lab, a print archive and a gallery featuring approximately 4-6 exhibitions per year.

General Requirements

 

  • Hong Kong permanent resident

  • be a full time undergraduate or graduate student with a major in Fine Art, Design, Cultural Management or arts-related programme from a local university

  • be interested in print arts and gaining hands-on experience in HKOP print studio

  • be a motivated team player and able to work independently

  • be fluent in spoken Cantonese and English

  • possess knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, Chinese word processing, knowledge of Adobe software, video editing is a plus.)

 

Duties

 

  • supporting the day to day running of the Print Lab, 806 Gallery and hong kong open press (香港活字館)

  • developing technical printmaking skills by working alongside our professional team

  • assisting in exhibits management and the preparation of exhibitions

  • assisting in education and promotion programmes 

 

Internship Period 

8-9 weeks in July-August 2023
